Donor Relations Officer
Alena Schock has been with the Operation Eyesight team in Calgary since 2020, bringing experience in International Relations, Marketing, Event Management and a decade of fundraising in both professional and volunteer roles. She was promoted to Donor Relations Officer in 2021 and is thrilled to be building the bequest donation portfolio and strengthening corporate relations. Alena believes relationship building and understanding donors’ emotional connection to philanthropy is at the core of fundraising success.
Alena is passionate about telling stories that resonate through a strategized marketing campaign or live event. She considers winning the bid to coordinate the opening events of the Calgary Central Library to be one of her greatest event accomplishments. Her campaigns are known for their creativity and buzz-worthy stories picked up by media across North America and Europe.
Alena adores the rush of public speaking and has MC’d events for rooms of over 500 people. Passionate about arts and culture in Calgary, you can find Alena planning sought-after events and weddings, attending performances or supporting local restaurants. “To travel is to live” may be an understatement for this woman.
