Caroline Ikumu is a public health specialist with a passion in community health and development. She joined Operation Eyesight in 2018 and is currently a Program Manager for a USAID funded School Eye Health Program, which aims to screen 80,000 primary school-going children in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. The project managed to screen over 75,000 children within six months of implementation, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, which was a major milestone for our organization. Caroline has previously supported Hospital-Based Community Eye Health Programs funded by Seeing is Believing (SiB) that successfully declared 15 villages as avoidable blindness free.
Caroline thrives at fostering both teamwork and collaboration. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family.
