Dr. Isaac Owusu Baffoe

Program Manager

Isaac is a self-motivated and innovative eye health and public health professional whose desire is to help poor and marginalized persons living with eye problems and contribute to eliminating avoidable blindness from communities in Ghana. 

Isaac graduated as a Doctor of Optometry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana in 2018. After practicing optometry at Watborg Eye Services for 3.5 years, he enrolled at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2013 and graduated with Master’s Degree in Public Health for Eye Care in 2014. He joined Operation Eyesight in 2015 as Programme Coordinator and has recently been promoted as Programme Manager. 

He successfully coordinated a Seeing is Believing-sponsored project with Operation Eyesight across 35 districts in all the regions of Ghana. Currently, Isaac is responsible for the successful implementation of Operation Eyesight’s flagship Hospital-Based Community Eye Health project in two districts in Ghana. He is also handling a USAID funded project which is aimed at screening or treating 75,000 school children and more than 3,000 teachers.  

When not at work, Isaac loves to spend quality time with his family. He also enjoys visiting new places when the opportunity presents itself.
