President & CEO
With more than 30 years of humanitarian experience, Kashinath (Kash) brings extensive leadership and expertise in international program development, implementation and advocacy.
He first joined our team as Senior Director of India in 2009, spearheading the development of what has become our flagship Hospital-Based Community Eye Health model. Following this, Kash served as Global Director of Programs, as well as Vice President of International Programs.
Kash has been integral to our growth and the impact we are creating in the communities we serve. Under his leadership, we have expanded programs, increased the number of countries we work in from four to eight, and successfully launched programs based on our adapted Hospital-Based Community Eye Health Program model in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Kash also introduced and formalized our policy on quality and led our team in pursuing fundraising activities in our countries of work.
Prior to joining Operation Eyesight, Kash held leadership positions with Save the Children UK and Action Aid France, bringing decades of experience working effectively in close collaboration with civil society, government and other partner agencies. He has extensive post-graduate training, teaching and research experience and is a published author. His qualifications include post-graduate degrees in science and technology for development (India) and regional development planning and management (Thailand and Germany).
Kashinath serves on the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Board of Trustees and was recognized as an Eye Health Leader by IAPB in 2013.
