Planned Giving Officer
With a lot of hard work and some luck, Michael became the first member of his family to attend university. He pursued a degree in criminology and criminal law, considering a future as a lawyer for Amnesty International or the possibility of pursuing a graduate degree; however, neither option felt right. Disenchanted with the legal system and the costs of higher education, he decided to take a chance and move to South Korea.
This decision profoundly impacted the trajectory of his life. In South Korea, Michael was able to travel extensively and deepen his understanding of the human experience, with his time in North Korea as a photographer being particularly transformative.
Michael is deeply passionate about human rights and social justice, guided by three principles: honesty, respect and effectiveness. He has a proven ability to build strong, resilient relationships with donors, who recognize and value the authenticity that drives his work. He has a passion for philanthropy and loves inspiring individuals about the change that it can foster.
