Marty has had a long and successful career in the book and publishing industry. He has worked for several large Canadian retailers and publishing companies in senior marketing positions before he founded Fairmount Books Inc., a large national book distribution company that marketed books to independent and major retailers and mass merchandisers in Canada, the US and 35 countries abroad.
While officially retired from Fairmount Books, Marty continues to work part-time offering business coaching and consulting to small and medium size businesses, providing mentoring and support to individuals and companies facing obstacles to growth. He has served in senior leadership on several not-for-profit boards and in a variety of volunteer positions.
Marty completed a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Concordia University in Montreal and has a coaching certificate from the Certified Coaching Federation. He and his wife enjoy travelling and spending time with their five children and four grandchildren. He is also an avid photographer.
Marty says, “I believe we all have a responsibility, through small and large acts of generosity and kindness, to help others and make the world a better place. I am honoured to be on the board of Operation Eyesight Universal and to support its mission to prevent blindness and restore sight.”
