Rob Ohlson, served as chair from 2014 to June 2017. He’s the director and president of Maillot Homes, a Calgary-based custom home builder and land development company. He also worked in the oil and gas services industry for four years.

He grew up in Tripoli, Libya; Calgary, Canada; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which helped enhance his understanding of cultural and development issues. An Operation Eyesight donor and supporter since 2005, Rob funded the Bob Ohlson Center for Sight in Visakhapatnam, India and spent three months visiting projects in Africa.

“Operation Eyesight’s mission and what it means to me is just the sheer quality of the programs. The quality is incredible, and the programs are done with the full buy-in and support of the local community, which leads to sustainable development that can be measured and is quantifiable.”

Rob is treasurer of the Springbank Commercial Park Business Association and a founding member of the Ohlson Research Initiative’s community advisory board. He has a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Calgary.
