Meet Operation Eyesight’s new Global Director – International Programmes: Dr. Parvez Memon

Congratulations to Dr. Parvez Memon, our new Global Director of International Programmes.

Parvez previously served as our Technical Director – Integrated Eye Health after joining the team in April 2020. He now leads our international programs, a position previously held by our new President & CEO, Kashinath Bhoosnurmath. Based in Hyderabad, India, Parvez will oversee our program teams in South Asia and Africa as we continue to deliver our core services of community empowerment, quality eye care and health system strengthening.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to lead the international programs team as we focus on creating access to eye health care services and delivering our programs in a safe care environment,” says Parvez. “Our goal is to build resilient communities that have access to quality, integrated health care. In the wake of the pandemic, our work to bring eye health care services closer to people’s homes is more critical than ever.”

Parvez is a physician (MBBS) by training and a PMD-pro certified public health professional with more than 12 years of experience in the health and development sectors. He has expertise in public health programming; disease control; reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health; quality-centric programming; and policy advocacy, among other areas.

Having previously worked with India Health Action Trust, Jhpiego and the World Health Organization, Parvez has a community perspective on health care programming and is passionate about building capacities of health care providers.

With Parvez’s leadership, and continued support from our donors and program partners, we will make great strides in our mission to prevent blindness and restore sight. To learn more about our community approach, visit
