Shaad Oosman is appointed chair of Operation Eyesight’s board of directors

Calgary, October 29, 2020 — Shaad Oosman, a member of the Operation Eyesight Canadian board of directors since 2017, will assume his new role effective October 29, 2020.

Oosman is currently based in Calgary as the chief financial officer and associate principal at S2 Architecture. He has almost two decades of experience in financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting. In addition, he sits on the boards of the Calgary Waldorf School and the Calgary Folk Music Festival.

Serving as an Operation Eyesight board member for the past three years, Oosman is well-equipped to lead the board as chair. He is passionate about our vision to end avoidable blindness, and he is excited to play a significant role in the future of the organization.

“Operation Eyesight does so much more than restore sight to those who need it the most,” says Oosman. “By restoring sight to one family member, it may mean that a grandchild, daughter or son can return to school because they don’t have to take care of their parents or grandparents anymore. It empowers women to be able to work to support themselves and their families. It means a village full of vitality and joy. I am so happy to support our amazing and highly effective team around the globe in making these very real differences in people’s lives every day.”
