Adeyinka Onikan is head of Specialty Services at Farm Radio International, Ottawa. With more than a decade of experience in international development, he has focused on bringing innovative solutions in a range of areas, including community health, social impact and sustainability, with a focus on resource-constrained environments. 

Adeyinka has a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and a master’s degree in management and leadership in Public Health from the University of Sheffield, UK. He also has a certificate in building state capability from Harvard University.

Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, his work has focused on impacting the lives of individuals and communities in Africa.

Adeyinka says his decision to serve on Operation Eyesight’s board of directors reflects his desire to enhance the lives of millions who lack access to basic amenities.

“Having spent a significant portion of my life living and working in resource-limited settings, I have a firsthand understanding of the profound impact preventable blindness can have,” he says.

“I’m committed to driving positive change in the world and I have also seen the pivotal role development organizations play in catalyzing transformation in the lives of communities.”

Adeyinka is a family man and an active member of his local church community. He is committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders and his volunteer work within the church involves leadership roles and mentoring youth.
